The Nebraska Department of Education reviews and certifies all school technology plans. This certification allows schools to become eligible to apply for funding under the Universal Service Fund, Schools and Libraries Discount Program (E-rate). The Department certifies plans by ensuring that a basic set of components are addressed in their plan. It is intended that all schools will use the forms on these pages to submit their Technology Plan which provides evidence that Erate technology planning criteria have been met.
Submission of key elements of the plan online will allow the Department to receive the plans in a format consistant with the five technology plan criteria specified by the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD). This format is designed to facilitate the review process by NDE allowing more rapid certification of school technology plans. It also has the potential to enhance approval in the event of a SLD Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) team review.
